Preparing your rib for installation of the new add-on rib

MOST IMPORTANT your rib needs to be clean and free of any oils. I use Windex applied with a toothbrush. The Windex will foam a little, as you scrub / clean , if it looks dirty after scrubbing your rib, wipe the rib off with a towel and do it again until it looks clean.

What the two ribs should look like at this stage

This photo is only to show what the ribs should look like when one is placed on top of the other.  This is also why I had you put tape on the bottom of one rib and at the top of the other. You can see why in two photos down from this one, the silicone is pushed out onto to tape.

Applying the silicone for installation

Run a thin bead of silicone down the top of your rib
run the silicone only as long as your new rib is.

Installing one rib on top of the other

Set one rib on top of the other starting at one end of the rib push down about every inch or so pushing out any excess silicone, go from one end to the other, try to keep the two ribs some what lined up. Wipe your hands off good if you get any silicone on them. Sometimes even though you wiped off your hands after getting silicone on them, you can still get a little shinny smug on the rib off your hands, don't worry it will rub off after you let the silicone dry.

YOU'RE ALMOST DONE

Make sure your ribs are lined up evenly with each other on both
sides and front to back. Now is when you install your screw if your
rib came with a screw hole. Install your screw and tighten it down
just a little and check your alignment again when your satisfied go
ahead and tighten it down.
Don't get crazy it only needs to be snug.
After a couple hours you can install your fiber optic stick for those
who ordered one of our cross fire eliminator ribs.  Let it dry
(in the winter a warmer room is best). Usually over night is long
enough, clean off any remaining silicone.
